Caltech Named to Financial Aid Honor Roll
July 24, 2009
After collecting data from colleges and universities across the country, the Princeton Review has reported its financial-aid ratings for 623 schools. Caltech is among 13 institutions named to the 2010 Financial Aid Honor Roll, receiving the highest possible score of 99.
The ratings, published in the Princeton Review's annual college guide and online at PrincetonReview.com, are based on data from surveys of administrators and of students receiving aid. Scoring accounted for the percentage of students at each school who were determined to have need and received aid, the percentage of need met, and the percentage of students whose need was fully met. Surveys of students evaluated their satisfaction with aid awards.
Robert Franek, vice president and publisher of the Princeton Review, said, "The cost of college at most institutions is sobering, and the need for financial aid greater than ever in these tough economic times. But we encourage applicants never to cross a school off their list because of its sticker price, and always to get information about schools' financial aid offerings and their award prospects, which can be truly compelling."
With more than 165 print and digital publications and a free website, PrincetonReview.com, the Princeton Review provides students and their parents with resources to research, apply to, prepare for, and learn how to pay for higher education.
