Seasonal Flu Shot Clinic
October 9, 2009 - The Caltech seasonal flu shot clinic will be held on Tuesday October 20, in Dabney Hall from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is the seasonal flu shot and not the H1N1 vaccination. The manufacturer of the vaccination has informed Caltech that part of the order will be delayed until November. This is due to the added stress to produce both the seasonal and H1N1 vaccinations. There is not a shortage of the seasonal flu vaccine—simply a delay in the delivery. Because of this, the first two hours of the clinic are reserved for those who fall within the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) priority groups:
- individuals aged 65 and older
- individuals with underlying chronic medical conditions
- individuals who are pregnant
After 11 a.m., the clinic will open to the entire Caltech community. When the additional dosages are received from the manufacturer, arrangements for receiving the vaccination will be announced.
